Children's jewelry

Ideas For Childrens Jewelry

Children's jewelryYou can give a youngster childrens jewelry even at a very early age. In fact even a new baby can sport a bracelet, custom-engraved with their name. Naturally, for infants, some metals wouldn't be the material of choice as the baby might lick and suck on the metal and ingest some toxic substance from it. Wrist bands though, made from crystals, could be just the right sort of childrens jewelry for the new baby.

Children's jewelryNecklaces can be worn by older children. They don't need to be of expensive metal, but the material should be corrosion-proof - you want to avid any skin sensitivity issues. You could hang lucky charms and custom-made pendants on the necklace. The pendant could also be the birthstone of the child or his birth sign. Other parents would think of engraving the name of the child on the necklace. Still others would go so far as to engrave the house address or the mobile phone number of one of the parents on the necklace. This will make it easier for the child to find his way home in case he should be inadvertently separated from his parents in a crowded place. Bracelets are also good places to place name tags and addresses for children. So, as you can see childrens jewelry may not necessarily be just decorative in nature.

But besides acting like an identifying tag for children, childrens jewelry can do so much for boosting their self-image and self-confidence. Wearing a special piece of jewellery, especially if it has been given as a special present or as a reward can be a real self-confidence boost and remind children of why they've received the present in the first place.

Children's jewelryIt would be a good idea to get your child a necklace and a matching bracelet to give her a sense of fashion early on. Many parents agree with childrens jewelry at a young age since it gives the child self esteem at a young age. So don't be afraid to get your little girl a necklace with her birthstone on it, or a bracelet with her name etched in the stones. At the very least, you will be making a positive move towards improving your child's self confidence and relationship with the rest of the world. ( By Beattie St Clair )
